Schultz, Doeden make cut at Q-school

Fargo golfers David Schultz and Andy Doeden each made the final cut in the first stage of the PGA Tour qualifying school.

Schultz made the cut after shooting a 3-under-par 69 in the fourth round and, at 7 under, finished tied for 18th at Rio Rico, Ariz.

Doeden also finished 7 under and was tied at 19th after an even par final round in Spring, Texas.

Schultz and Doeden advanced to the second stage of qualifying, which takes place the third week of November.

Another Fargo golfer competing in the first stage of qualifying, Brandon Askew, shot a 5-over 77 on Friday, finishing the stage at 13 over. Askew missed the cut, ending tied for 57th at the end of four rounds.
