MINOT, N.D. - Fargo Shanley is in second place after the first day of the North Dakota state Class A girls golf tournament at Minot Country Club.
Minot leads the team race with a first-day score of 325, a comfy 13 strokes ahead of the Deacons' total of 338. Dickinson is in third at 344.
Liz Strom's round of 78 led the way for Shanley. She was followed by Sarah Storandt's round of 80.
Jamestown's Laura Kraft leads the individual race with an opening round score of 71.
West Fargo's Krista Weiszhaar is in second at 75. Strom is tied for third with Grand Forks Red River's Lexi Nord at 78. Minot's Shantel Montgomery and Emma Kusick are tied for fifth at 79.
