Another local high school weightlifter is bringing home some national championship hardware.
Sheyenne junior Nic Renner won a title in the 96 kilogram weight class at the USA Weightlifting National Championships on Monday night. His final results, lifting a combined 566 pounds in the snatch and clean and jerk, beat the runner-up by 63 pounds.
"It felt surreal because coming from nothing to the best just felt surreal compared to anything else," Renner said. "I came in here and just did what I did." >>> Full story here.
