MOORHEAD — Moorhead’s Olivia Watson, who a set school single-season record for goals this season, is one of five finalists for the Minnesota Class 2A Ms. Soccer Award presented by the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Watson smashed the single-season record for goals in the eighth game of the season. She finished with 43 goals in 10 games, including a Minnesota state record of 11 goals against Rocori on Aug. 27. The previous single-season record holder, Quin Ryan, scored 34 goals in 18 games in 2005.

Watson, who has committed to play at North Dakota State, tied the school record for career goals with 89.

The other finalists are Chloe Olson of Minneapolis South, Kenzie Jacobsen of Rosemount, Kyah Harper of Centennial and Lexi Huber of Stillwater. The winner will be announced on Oct. 31.
