North Dakota State's senior first baseman Melissa Chmielewski was named Summit League Softball Player of the Year on Thursday.
This is the second time in three years that Chmielewski was selected for the award in a voting of the league's nine head coaches.
Chmielewski leads the Summit League with a .404 batting average, 58 RBIs and 18 doubles.
Pitcher Whitney Johnson was named Freshman of the Year by posting 13 wins and a 2.37 ERA with 149 strikeouts.
