MOORHEAD — The Minnesota State Moorhead softball team rebounded after a Game 1 loss, erupting for six runs in the fourth inning of Game 2 for a 6-4 win over the University of Mary on Tuesday in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action at Scheels Field.

Kaiya Sundeen hit a two-run double for the Dragons in the first game, a 7-6 loss. Elizabeth Johnson had two hits, an RBI and a run. Emma Dummer scored a run and had one RBI.

In Game 2, the Marauders (17-23, 8-12 NSIC) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by scoring three in the top of the second inning. Two innings later, the Dragons offense caught fire as six runners crossed home plate. Johnson and Sundeen started the rally with back-to-back RBI singles. Shay Weber followed with an RBI double and Ashley McCance grounded out for an RBI. Jordie McNeilly capped the surge with a two-run single.

MSUM (12-25, 6-14) will remain in Moorhead for a conference doubleheader with Wayne State at 1 p.m. Friday.
