MOORHEAD — The Minnesota State Moorhead softball team cruised to an 11-3 win and fell 11-8 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference softball doubleheader against Wayne State on Friday at Scheels Field.

Taylor Roddie's second-inning double in Game 1 gave the Dragons 71 this season, setting a new single-season school record. MSUM (13-26, 7-15 NSIC) added four more and sits at 75 through 39 games.

Payton Gaber went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Dragons in Game 1. Jordie McNeilly had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Becky Berth (10-15) gave up three runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts over five innings for the win.

Elizabeth Johnson went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs for MSUM in Game 2. Ashley McCance had two hits and two RBIs.
