GAINESVILLE, Fla. —North Dakota State used a balanced attack at the plate to down Longwood University 8-2 at the Florida Bubly Invitational Sunday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Lauren Reimers started things for the Bison, cracking home a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning with two outs. That pattern repeated in the second inning when with two outs, Madyson Camacho singled, while Stephanie Soriano tripled giving NDSU a 3-2 lead.

The Herd extended that lead in the fourth inning, totaling four runs thanks to another two RBIs from Soriano, and an RBI single from Camacho. Soriano finished 3-for-4, while Avery Wyson, Camacho and Sam Koehn each registered two hits.

Paige Vargas (3-2) was solid again on the mound for the Bison, allowing just six hits, and striking out four. Sydney Jacobson paced Longwood (3-6) with two hits.

NDSU (4-5) finished 3-2 at the tournament, and plays Weber State at the Texas Invitational Friday, Feb. 21.
