CLERMONT, Fla. — The Minnesota State Moorhead softball team earned its first two wins of the season, cruising past the College of St. Rose 6-1 and defeating Felician 8-3 Friday to kick off its Florida trip.

Against St. Rose (0-3), Kaiya Sundeen drove in two runs with a double and Samantha Gjerde hit a two-run home run for the Dragons. Gjerde added an RBI single in the sixth inning to finish with a team-high three RBIs. Becky Berth (1-4) gave up one unearned run on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts to earn the win.

Taylor Roddie belted her first two home runs of the season to lead the Dragons (2-8) against Felician (3-4). Roddie hit a solo shot in the third inning and followed with a three-run bomb in the fourth to give her a team-best four RBIs. Jordie McNeilly went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
