Katie Johnson, a junior from Moorhead, became only the third gymnast in University of Arizona history to post a perfect 10.0 score in the floor exercise recently.
Johnson accomplished the feat during the Feb. 23 meet against Texas and Louisiana State. Her teammate Andi McCabe posted a perfect score in the vault during the same meet -- making the two the seventh and eighth gymnasts in Arizona history to record perfect scores in any event.
Johnson, who competed for American Gold Gymnasts in Fargo, is currently ranked No. 14 nationally in the floor exercise. Arizona is ranked 11th as a team.
In 2002, Johnson was named the Pac-10 Conference freshman of the year. Last year as a sophomore, she had three floor titles and 10 top-five finishes.
