ST. PAUL — St. Catherine led for the majority of its 84-68 win over Concordia in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball Saturday afternoon at Butler Center.
Autumn Thompson tallied 23 points including 5 of 9 from downtown to lead the Cobbers, while Elizabeth Birkmeyer added 14 points. Emily Beseman added a spark off the bench with 13 points with the road team shooting 20-for-49 (40.8%) from the field.
St. Catherine (6-7, 3-5 MIAC) was led by Danica Cambrice's 15 points and Cierra Ahlf's 13. The Wildcats dominated down low, outscoring Concordia 32-22 in the paint. The lead changed hands just once. The Wildcats knocked down 12 3-pointers behind 47.5% shooting from the field.
The Cobbers (5-8, 3-5 MIAC) host Gustavus at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
