St. Thomas tops competitive Cobbers in volleyball

ST. PAUL — St. Thomas claimed a four-set victory over Concordia in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball Wednesday at Schoenecker Arena.

Concordia kept it close for most of the match, as St. Thomas won by scores of 25-18, 33-31, 24-26 and 26-24. Anna Brakke had 15 kills and 24 digs for the Cobbers. Gabby DeBoer had 27 digs and Kendra Wiggs totaled seven blocks to pace the defense. Lexi Turn tallied 26 assists and Brook Carney added 13 kills.

Four Tommies recorded double-digit kills, led by Fran Egan with 17 and Selena Levendoski with 16. Grace Anetipa had 54 assists and Ellie Meyer tallied 40 digs.

First-place St. Thomas improved to 14-3 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC. Concordia dropped to 4-11 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC.
