BISMARCK — The Minnesota State Moorhead swimming and diving team is in sixth place with 217 points after Day 3 of competition at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference swimming and diving championships at BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center.

MSUM's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Katelin Winter, Megan Gates, Breah Anderson and Lexi Bray recorded a time of 7 minutes, 45.45 seconds to claim fifth place and set a new school record in the event. The previous record of 7:46.98 was set in 2009.

In the 100 breaststroke, Erin Fons finished in sixth place with a time of 1:06.47 for the Dragons.

St. Cloud State sits in first place with 595 points. Sioux Falls is second with 579 points and Minnesota State-Mankato is third at 559.

The fourth and final day of competition kicks off with trial sessions at 10 a.m. Saturday. The finals will be at 5:30 p.m.
