Former UND forward Jonathan Toews is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at 10:35 p.m. this evening.
Toews is scheduled to be accompanied by his Chicago Blackhawks teammates Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and Keith Seabrook. They also will bring the Stanley Cup, which the won last week.
Toews earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the NHL playoffs. He broke Stan Mikita's team record for most consecutive playoff games with a point and tied Denis Savard's team playoff-record 29 points.
The 22-year-old Toews played for the Sioux from 2005-07, leading the team to a pair of Frozen Fours. Last week, he became the first former Western Collegiate Hockey Association player to captain a team to a Stanley Cup. He's also the WCHA's first Conn Smythe winner.
