COLLEGE STATION, Texas - North Dakota State senior Whitney Carlson placed 12th in the long jump and 16th in the pentathlon at the NCAA Division I track and field championships on Friday.
Carlson recorded a leap of 20 feet, 1½ inches in the long jump on her second attempt. In the pentathlon, Carlson tallied a score of 3,573.
Bison junior Leslie Brost will compete in the pole vault at 4 p.m. today.
Long jump: 1, Bowie, SM, 21-4 ¾. 12, Carlson, NDSU, 20-1 ½.
