LONG BEACH, Calif. — North Dakota State track and field athletes Bailey DeMar and Payton Otterdahl each achieved personal bests Saturday to highlight the Bison track team's performance at the Beach Invitational.

DeMar now ranks fifth in NDSU history after leaping 41 feet, 8 3/4 inches in the triple jump, and had a career-best long jump of 19-10 1/4.

Otterdahl threw an outdoor personal-best of 70-1 1/2 in the shot put to extend his NDSU record and rank second in the NCAA for the outdoor season. He also finished as the top collegian in the discus, throwing 205-6, the second-best mark of his career.

Jenna Kes had a personal best of 1 minute, 3.54 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles to rank fourth in the Summit League this season.

Alex Talley threw an outdoor personal-best of 62-2 1/2 in the shot put to rank fifth in NDSU history and 25th in the NCAA. Michael Keogan threw for 60-4, moving to seventh best at NDSU.
