FARGO — The NCAA announced the fields for the NCAA indoor track and field championships and North Dakota State will be sending its largest group of qualifiers in the program's Division I history.
The Bison had six athletes earn a total of seven throwing event entries to the championships.
On the men's side, senior Alex Talley qualified for both the weight throw and shot put. He was the only thrower in the nation to qualify for both events. Senior Trevor Otterdahl will join Talley in the weight throw, while junior Kristoffer Thomsen and sophomore Maxwell Otterdahl qualified in the shot put.
On the women's end, junior Akealy Moton, a West Fargo graduate, earned a berth in the shot put. Senior Amy Herrington qualified in the weight throw.
This year's indoor championships will be held March 11-13 in Fayetteville, Ark. Weight throw competition is Thursday, March 11, with the women competing at 4:30 p.m. and the men at 6:30 p.m. Shot put competition is scheduled for Friday, March 12, with the men and women both starting at 11 a.m.
