GRAND FORKS - University of North Dakota head coach Chris Mussman announced on Friday that current wide receivers coach Luke Schleusner has been promoted to the role of offensive coordinator.

Schleusner, who played wide receiver at UND and was part of the 2001 Division II National Championship team, inherits an offense that did put up record-breaking numbers in the passing game a season ago as fifth-year senior quarterbacks Braden Hanson and Marcus Hendrickson combined to pass for a single-season record 3,268 yards and 30 touchdowns.

With Schleusner's elevation and the departure of former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Greg Breitbach, Mussman also announced on Friday that running backs coach Danny Freund will take over as the quarterbacks coach and Benny Boyd will take on the role as special teams coordinator.
