Calhoun is listed as a defensive back and return specialist on the Texas roster. He is the only NAIA player on either roster, which are dominated by Division I players.

Calhoun, originally from Phoenix, Ariz., played four years for the Vikings, mostly at defensive back his first three seasons before moving to full-time wide receiver his senior season.

Calhoun finished the season ranked in the top four in the NAIA in receptions per game, yards receiving per game, and touchdowns per game.
