Bison volleyball drops two matches at the Diet Coke Classic

MINNEAPOLIS-North Dakota State lost a pair of matches Saturday in college volleyball at the Diet Coke Classic.

Arkansas earned a 22-25, 25-15 25-16, 25-11 win against the Bison in the first match. Georgia Southern swept NDSU 25-19, 27-25, 25-18 in the second match.

Allie Mauch led the Bison with 11 kills against Arkansas, while Alexis Bachmeier had 10 kills and 12 digs. Kalli Hegerle tallied 23 assists and Abbi Klos had 16 digs.

In the second match, McKenzie Burke had 10 kills for NDSU, while Hegerle recorded 28 assists. Kaylee Hanger had 17 digs.

The Bison fell to 1-5 overall. NDSU hosts Western Carolina in the team's home-opener at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
