FARGO — Grand Forks Central battled back from an early deficit to defeat a competitive seventh-seeded Fargo North 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 Thursday in an East Region volleyball play-in match.

Emily Skalicky paced the North attack with 12 kills, adding 20 assists. Trissa Grande contributed across the board with three aces, 23 assists and 17 digs. Grace Miller had five blocks, while Karlie Goschen recorded 24 digs and Georgia Paul chipped in nine kills.

The 10th-seeded Knights advanced to the quarterfinals where they will face No. 2 West Fargo Sheyenne at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12. North finished the season with an overall record of 11-17.
