BERKELEY, Calif. — The Bison pushed their win streak to four matches after recording a 25-22, 25-22, 14-25, 25-21 victory over Nevada to close the weekend at the Cal Tournament.

Syra Tanchin led the Bison with a match-high 17 kills with a .355 hitting percentage. Raegen Reilly tallied a double-double with 43 assists and 10 digs. Michelle Glover had a team-high seven total blocks to go with 12 kills. Ali Hinze had a double-double of her own with 11 kills and 11 digs. On the defensive side, Kaylee Hanger anchored the Bison with 20 digs.

NDSU rose to 6-3 overall this season and returns to action on Friday at the Portland State Tournament in Portland, Ore. The Bison start tournament play against Portland State at 9 p.m.

ABERDEEN, S.D. — The Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball team dropped a competitive five-set match to New Mexico Highlands in nonconference action at the Northern State Tournament.

MSUM won the first set 27-25 and lost the second 25-12. The Dragons then went ahead 2-1 with a 25-16 win in set No. 3, but New Mexico Highlands won the fourth and fifth 25-19, 15-12, respectively.

Amanda Carlson led the Dragons attack with 21 kills. Bridget Witzmann followed with eight kills. Kelly Klees totaled 22 assists and four aces, while Halle Erickson added 19 assists. Jadyn Feist recorded 21 digs, Sarah Petrbok had 20 and Klees 14.

The Dragons (0-8) open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play at 6 p.m. Friday at Upper Iowa.

Cobbers lose in 5, win in 3 to close play in Wisconsin

SUPERIOR, Wis. — Concordia started the day with a five-set loss to host Wisconsin-Superior, but rebounded with a sweep of Northland to wrap up play at the Wisconsin-Superior Stinger Classic.

Wisconsin-Superior came back to win 25-18, 19-25, 19-25, 26-24, 15-10. The Cobbers then swept Northland 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.

Against Wisconsin-Superior, four Cobbers had at least 10 kills. Anna Brakke racked up 20 kills to lead the way. Hannah Keil followed with 12 kills, while Brook Carney and Kendra Wiggs each had 10. Kenzie Urbanec had a double-double with 41 assists and 12 digs. Brakke completed a double-double with a team-high 22 digs, while Keil added 10.

Brakke had another double-double against Northland, posting 13 digs and a match-high 13 kills. Markovic anchored the Cobbers defense with 20 digs and Urbanec tallied 32 assists. Keil and Wiggs added nine and eight assists, respectively.
