MOORHEAD — Concordia took the first set 25-17, but Valley City State won the next three 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 in nonconference college volleyball Wednesday at Memorial Auditorium.

Hannah Keil led a balanced Concordia attack with 11 kills. Anna Brakke notched eight kills. Peyton Selle and Brook Carney each had seven kills, and Maria Watt and Kendra Wiggs both tallied six. Brakke totaled five aces.

Chloe Markovic anchored the Cobbers defense with 21 digs. Kenzie Urbanec and Mariah Iwen passed out 22 and 17 assists, respectively.

The Vikings (10-13) were led by Katie Juarez's match-best 18 kills. Bailey Nelson followed with 11 kills and Ella Roaldson had 10. Juarez added 17 digs for the double-double and Kallene Klever led the team with 20.

The Cobbers (6-13) return to action Friday with a 7 p.m. home match against Carleton.
