ST. PETER, Minn. — Gustavus sits atop the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Concordia found out why the hard way on Friday night, suffering a 25-18, 25-14, 25-11 loss to the Gusties at Gus Young Court.

The Gusties had 53 kills and just eight errors in 115 attacks for a .391 team hitting percentage. The Cobbers had 19 kills and 13 errors for a hitting percentage of .057.

Kate Holtan led the Gusties with 23 kills, Marlee Turn had nine, Courtney Peterson had eight and Sarah Elliott and Sydney Olson both had six. All hit .333 or better. Kasie Tweet had 45 set assists.

The Cobbers' Brook Carney had five kills and Hannah Keil had four. No Cobber hit better than .214. Mariah Iwen had 10 set assists.

The Gusties improved to 7-1 in the MIAC and 21-5 overall. The Cobbers (1-7 MIAC, 8-15 overall) take on St. Olaf at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in Northfield, Minn.
