The game was billed as North Dakota State's most important one on the season.
A win over Oral Roberts would put the Bison in the driver's seat for a second place finish in the Summit League.
What might go down as NDSU's best game of the season, a 77-59 drubbing of the Golden Eagles, will be remembered for what happened postgame.
After the handshake lines were done, Bison coach David Richman and ORU coach Paul Mills exchanged words. The teams came together with pushing and shoving from both sides, with punches appearing to be thrown as well. Golden Eagle center Elijah Lufile exited the scrum with a bloody lip, then charged back to halfcourt at the NDSU gathering, but was tackled before he could get to anyone wearing green and yellow.
"There's no part of that in the game," Richman said on WDAY Xtra's broadcast directly following. "I'm sure some of that is on us, some of that's on them. We got to be better. We'll learn from that experience."
