Rebels take Section 8AAA title with overtime win over Fergus Falls.

FARGO -- The Fargodome is becoming the hub of high school football, starting on Thursday with Minnesota section championships beginning.

In the Section 8AAA title game, D-G-F prevailed in a thriller, 22-20 in overtime over Fergus Falls. The Rebels' Logan Johnson scored the game-winning touchdown at the start of overtime, followed by a two-point conversion. The Otters responded with a touchdown catch from Cole Zierden, but the ensuing two-point try was broken up by Kaden Altobelli.

In Section 8A, Mahnomen-Waubun exacted revenge over Ada-Borup-West for its lone loss of the season, taking the crown 30-7. Thunderbird quarterback Tanner Pazdernik punched in three touchdowns on the ground and one through the air.
