FARGO -- The local baseball community continues to mourn the loss of former Fargo-Moorhead pitcher Tyler Herron, who died on Wednesday at the age of 35. Herron spent parts of five seasons with the RedHawks, which included three starts in 2021.
"Off the field and in the clubhouse I knew he would take the rookies & any teammate under his wing and show them the ropes of professional baseball," said former RedHawk Manager Michael Schlact. "I’m heartbroken to learn of his passing."
"When you run through 200 some players in your tenure, you can't keep up with everybody, but Tyler was one where it was just easy to keep up with," said American Association deputy commissioner and former RedHawk general manager Josh Buchholz. "Just one of those gut punch days."
