The start of race weekend in the Fargo Marathon kicked off on Friday night with the annual 5K.
North Dakota State track and field redshirt freshman Jake Arason crossed the line first in the men's race at 15:05.
Lindsey Green won the women's race with a time of 19:40. The Canadian had competed in the race every year since it started, but Friday night was her first win in it.
"Coming into the Dome, I didn't see a girl behind and I thought, 'This is great, I've got this,'" Green said.
NDSU baseball has added another milestone to the program's resume. With a sweep of Western Illinois on Friday night, the Bison took their first Summit League regular season championship.

"It feels good. I told them, its a credit to those guys and our coaching staff for putting together a long journey and kind of with all the adversity these guys have gone through," Bison head coach Tyler Oakes said.
