SPORTS SUNDAY - Detroit Mountain hosted its first race of the skiing season Saturday and with it comes a rejuvenated community on the slopes.

After the mountain's nearly 10 year hiatus, the reopening has given skiers a brand new appreciation for the activity and it's showing in the communities youth.

" Now the mountain is back open, it's presenting many opportunities to the community - including here on the ski slopes," Detroit Lakes coach Casey Bekkerus said.
