WATCH: UND hockey sits on top of NCHC at halfway point, Kindred boy's basketball opens season with win, and more in WDAY 10pm Sportscast for Dec. 11

FARGO-- Heading into the winter break, UND sits on top of the NCHC standings alone. North Dakota defeating Colorado College on Saturday night, 4-1 in Jakub Hellsten's collegiate debut. Gavin Hain, Louis Jamernik, and Tyler Kleven all netting goals.

UND men's basketball drops its third straight game on Saturday after falling to Eastern Washington University, 76-60. North Dakota was unable to recover from a 14-0 run midway through the first half. Mitchell Sueker led UND with 17 points, Brady Danielson picked up a career-high eight rebounds.

In a double-header in Crookston, the MSUM men's and women's teams both pick up wins over the Golden Eagles. The Dragon win winning 75-60, behind Gavin Baumgartner scoring a team high 18 points. The Dragon women winner 75-62, following Peyton Boom's 18 points as well.

Kindred boy's basketball held season opener against DGF, as the Vikings are coming off the team's first ever Class B State Championship. Owen Leach carried the Rebels with a game-high 24 points, but it wasn't enough as the Vikings win 53-44. Riley Sunram leading the way for Kindred, scoring 11 points while also recording 11 rebounds.
