WATCH: UND returns five defensive starters for extra year, Moorhead boys lacrosse making history in WDAY's 6 PM sportscast for June 11

Seven total seniors announced their intent to return to the Fighting Hawks for the 2021 fall season.

FARGO -- UND football will not lack for experience when the fall season arrives. Seven seniors announcing today they'll be back for next season. Five of those were starters during the spring season: cornerback Evan Holm, safeties Jordan Canady and Hayden Galvin, and linebackers Jaxson Turner and Ray Haas.

Additionally, senior kicker Adam Stage, backup linebacker Ty Shannon, and transfer wide receiver Jake Richter are all returning as well.

It's been a year of milestones for Moorhead boys Lacrosse. First winning season, first postseason win, and now a first trip to the state tournament.

The Spuds knew those times would come, just not this soon.

"Feels like a trail-blazer, like we can set the culture and tradition for the lacrosse program and it feels really great," said senior attack Kenny Bohney.

"It's crazy, I feel like we just went at warp speed through the channels," said head coach Andrew Law. "This is unprecedented territory for us."

Zach Staton joined WDAY as a sports reporter in 2018. He grew up in Salem, Virginia loving any sport he could play or watch. Staton graduated from Bridgewater College with a degree in Communication Studies before getting his Master's in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a Sports Communication Emphasis from Syracuse University.
