BARNESVILLE, Minn. - Barnesville head coach Art Meyer's decision to bump Tanner Jorud and Troy Longtin up a weight class and avoid Moorhead's Jay Thoreson at 171 pounds paid off.
The Trojans won their final three matches en route to a39-26 victory against Moorhead on Tuesday in wrestling.
"It was a back and forth match," Meyer said. "They came back and made it close."
The Spuds, ranked No. 12 in Class 3A, won four consecutive matches after Barnesville won six of the first seven.
"We won some big matches down below and they got their horses in the upper weights," said Meyer, whose Trojans are unranked in Class 1A, but are 12-0 this season.

Jorud earned a 6-1 overtime decision over Justin Phillippi at 189 to give the Trojans a33-26 lead.
Longtin sealed the win with a 9-4 decision over Tyler Guhlke at 215.
Barnesville 130-pounder Kirk Anderson (16-0) remained unbeaten with a 9-7 decision against Luke Tweten.
"They're an outstanding team," Meyer said. "We knew it was going to be a battle."
