WEST FARGO - West Fargo's Sydney Greenlund has been named the Gatorade North Dakota high school softball player of the year.
Greenlund, a senior catcher who has committed to play softball at Jamestown College, led West Fargo to a 33-2 record and its 15th straight state championship this season.
Greenlund batted .465 with three home runs, 49 runs scored, 49 RBI and a .711 slugging percentage. The two-time All-Eastern Dakota Conference selection also maintained a 3.98 grade point average.
