RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Two power play goals in the first period lifted Wisconsin-River Falls to a 4-1 victory over Concordia Saturday night in Division III hockey.

Cobbers' senior forward Jake Ellingson was tagged with a five-minute major penalty for boarding in the first period. The Falcons struck for two goals from Ryan Cusin during the extra-man advantage.

Concordia junior Tyler Bossert drew one back for the Cobbers in the second period, but it was all the Cobbers could muster offensively. River Falls added a short-handed goal from Peter Kavos and Charlie Singerhouse in the third period. Concordia goalie Jacob Stephan stopped 19 shots.

Concordia (1-3) will begin their home schedule against Winona St. Mary's at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Moorhead Sports Center.
