The New Year hasn't been kind to the Minnesota State Moorhead women's basketball team.
The Dragons scored 15 points in the first half Sunday at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse and never held a lead the entire game. Northern State took advantage, earning a 60-46 victory in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
The Dragons (8-5, 5-4 NSIC) have lost three of the four games they have played in January.
"It is a little frustrating coming out of Christmas break especially," said MSUM junior Angie Jetvig, who finished with 10 points and six rebounds. "We haven't come out and played the way we wanted to."
MSUM shot 27 percent (16 of 60) from the field and 11 percent (2 of 19) from 3-point range. Jetvig, who was averaging 18.5 points per game entering Sunday, didn't score her first points until the second half.

"I'm not surprised that the game was as ugly as it looked because all our games with them are that ugly," MSUM head coach Karla Nelson said. "It just comes down to players being more consistent and playing more consistent. They were just more fortunate tonight that they had some go-to plays and people finish some shots for them."
Northern State shot 48 percent (21 of 44) from the field, including a 52-percent effort (12 of 23) in the second half. Wolves 6-foot-6 center Krista Rabenberg led the charge, scoring her game-high 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting (75 percent) from the floor.
The Wolves took control with at 15-5 surge that started early in the second half. Rabenberg started that run with an inside basket. Junior forward Brittany Euerle capped the rally with a 15-foot jumper that staked the Wolves to a 39-25 lead with 12 minutes, 25 seconds remaining in the second half.
"Our effort tonight was kind of embarrassing I would say," Jetvig said. "We couldn't make a shot. Our offense isn't very cohesive at this point so we've got to keep trying and get better every day at that."
