North Dakota State Sen-ior Heather Zander leads the heptathlon after four events with a score of 3,140 points on the first day of the Summit League Cham-pionships in Toledo, Ohio.

Zander finished first in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.31 seconds and the 200 meter run with a time of 24.76 seconds.

Freshman Lauren Rice finished third in the 10,000 meter run by running a personal-best time of 36:29.34.
