WEST FARGO — Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) here honored our fallen heroes Monday.
Dozens of locals watched a flag-raising ceremony outside of the club on Sheyenne Street.
The flag was dedicated to Eugene Cross, a Vietnam veteran who recently passed away.
A wreath of honor was then placed to remember the sacrifice of so many.
A red rose was added for mothers who lost sons and daughters in service.
Members of the VFW want people to remember their freedom came with a price.
"It's the integrity, it's the values that have come to what we should know and go forward and appreciate the sacrifice that our brothers and sisters that didn't come back, and live a life that they never go," said VFW Post 7564 Commander Bradley Reed.
The ceremony also paid tribute to more than 30 other veterans who've passed since last Memorial Day.
