FARGO — A local brewery is in the national spotlight for its efforts to help rescue dogs.

Fargo Brewing Company and its labeling company, Northern Plains Label, put the faces of six dogs up for adoption on their beer cans as part of an effort to help 4 Luv of Dog Rescue, a local organization that rescues and rehomes dogs.

The promotional campaign led up to an event on Monday, Nov. 4, featuring dogs in foster homes and at the rescue. Since then, the story was picked up by several national media outlets, including CNN and People Magazine, but brewery co-founder Aaron Hill said it's all about those six dogs finding forever homes.

"The national attention is great. It's awesome, but ideally, we're still looking for local people to find homes for these dogs," Hill said.

Hill said one pup on the cans was adopted before the cans debuted last weekend, but otherwise, just a few people have shown interest in adopting them.
