FARGO — MATBUS is shutting down services beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, due to worsening weather conditions. Services will remain suspended through Thursday.

MATBUS transit manager Lori Van Beek said it's very rare for the Fargo-Moorhead bus system to shut down for an entire day. She said the bus garage and ground transportation center in downtown Fargo will be closed Thursday.

"We feel like the weather is going to be bad enough that we definitely need to keep facilities closed so employees don't have to get to work and people aren't waiting at bus stops in the high winds and snow and rain," she said.

As for services on Friday, March 15, Van Beek said MATBUS will be assessing the situation as the storm develops. She said a decision about Friday bus services will be made early Thursday morning.
