Watch for lightning and listen for thunder at Friday evening's high school football games.
If football fans hear thunder or see lightning, they should get inside their vehicle or an enclosed structure as soon as possible.
The WDAY TV News StormTRACKER weather app can alert people of impending lightning, down to their specific location.
To make sure this feature is on, first open the StormTRACKER app. Then, in the upper right hand corner click on the three white lines. Go down on the list of options and click "settings", this will open a new screen.
Once the new screen is opened, go down to Weather Notification Types and tap on it. A new screen with several alert options will open. Find "Lightning" and make sure it is toggled on.

Lastly, make sure the StormTRACKER app is following your exact location to insure you get accurate and timely alerts for your current location.
