WeatherTalk: November pattern continues to be progressive

wx talk.jpg

The weather lately has been highly variable. So far this November, our region has experienced sunny days with afternoon temperatures in the 70s as well as snowy days with afternoon temperatures in the 20s. Although it is unlikely we will be enjoying any more days as warm as the 70s until spring, the up and down pattern seems likely to continue. The weather pattern continues to be progressive, with no major blocks setting up to impede the general circulation around North America.

Milder days will be in the 40s and maybe 50s. Colder days will bring afternoon temperatures in the 20s or even teens. This pattern also is less likely to spin up any major snowstorms. Travel conditions through the Thanksgiving holiday will likely depend on the presence or absence of small weather systems which can certainly make roads slick for a day or two but are not likely to close down the entire region.
