WF public works director gets 2 snowstorms in first weeks on job

WEST FARGO — Matthew Andvik is on his second week as West Fargo Public Works Director, and he has already had to deal with two snow events in the area.

He said they're still doing snow removal to open clogged streets from the New Year's storm just in time for another round of predicted snow on Friday and Saturday. He estimates that, so far this year, crews have been averaging about 700 to 800 truckloads of snow removed from the city daily.

"For one thing, we're probably just about full-staff for the first time in quite a while so that helps to just have those extra bodies to put in equipment to get out there," Andvik said.
