WEST FARGO — Take a shopping trip around West Fargo on Saturday, Nov. 27, to support our local businesses. In addition, you will be eligible to win one of three gift baskets with $250, $125, or $75 worth of gift cards and merchandise from your local favorites!
The City of West Fargo and locally owned businesses are participating in a Passport Program to celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27.
Shoppers can pick up a passport at any participating business on Small Business Saturday. Any shopper who visits three local businesses can turn in their passport online or in person at City Hall and be entered to win a gift basket of local items.
“As we begin the holiday season, we are encouraging West Fargo residents to support small and locally owned businesses,” said Lauren Orchard, Economic Development Director in a release. “Shopping small drives your dollars back into the local economy and supports the growth of the West Fargo business community as they continue to bounce back from the challenges of the coronavirus.”
A full list of participating businesses can be found below , or shoppers can look for a Small Business Saturday flyer in the window of businesses involved in the program. Completed passports must be turned in by Dec. 1, and three winners will be chosen on Dec. 3.

Nov. 21, the Saturday after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday which is a day to promote online and in-person shopping at your local small businesses. The idea of Small Business Saturday was coined by American Express in 2010 to help small businesses after the Great Recession. The term 'Small Business' can vary depending on the industry, but the Small Business Association defines it as: generally any business that has fewer than 500 employees.
