The West Fargo Public Library will return to normal operating hours on Monday, March 1, 2021.
The library will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The change is in accordance with Cass County's low, or green risk level status, which the it has been since January.
The library reopened to walk-in traffic Jan. 19, but has maintained modified hours while evaluating local COVID-19 numbers through February.
“We are excited to take another step toward normalcy,” Library Director Carissa Hansen said in a release “At this time, we have consistently low numbers locally, so we are prepared to extend our hours again.”

For the safety of patrons and staff, the library will maintain current COVID-19 protocols. While visiting the library, patrons are encouraged to wear face coverings, sanitize frequently, help maintain the cleanliness of the library, and follow social distancing protocols as defined by the CDC. The West Fargo Public Library will continue to offer curbside pickup of materials. To use the curbside pickup service, guests can place a request for specific items using the online library catalog , emailing askus@westfargond.gov or calling (701) 551-8940. Patrons can also place a hold for a Binge Bag (a staff-picked collection of items based on a theme you choose) for pickup via this form . Patrons are notified when their hold is ready and should call the library when they arrive to pick up their items. Library programs will remain virtual at this time; however, library staff are working to transition programs to in person on a case-by-case basis. At this time, patrons should refer to the library’s event calendar at westfargolibrary.org to learn more about the format or location of each program.
The West Fargo Public Library continues to work closely with other City of West Fargo departments to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 and to develop plans that are in the best interest of public safety while continuing to provide public services.
