West Fargo Sheyenne running back Barika Kpeenu has verbally committed to play football at North Dakota State, he announced via Twitter on Monday, April 13.

"Wow this is crazy!!" Kpeenu wrote. "I never would (have) dreamt to even have this opportunity."

Kpeenu, who will be a senior next fall, led the Eastern Dakota Conference in rushing last season, gaining more than 1,200 yards, averaging more than 100 rushing yards per game.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Kpeenu is the second commitment for the 2021 recruiting class. Mandan defensive lineman Jaxon Duttenhefer committed to the Bison on March 25.
