WEST FARGO — Stage West's opening night of the musical "Rock of Ages" got a Hollywood reception when North Dakota native Josh Duhamel was spotted in the audience, Friday, July 23.
Rock of Ages opened at the Essentia Health Plaza at the Lights on Friday night as the inaugural performance of Stage West.
Josh Duhamel attended the opening night performance and visited with the cast and crew backstage, including director and producer Adam Pankow.
Stage West is a newly formed producing arm of West Fargo Events, the nonprofit group that helps manage city properties such as the Plaza at the Lights and the VFW outdoor plaza as well as West Fest and Cruise Nights. Stage West celebrates local artists and arts patrons through live performance, education and cultural experiences that serve and connect the community.
The cast of more than 20 and five-member band performing in "Rock of Ages," a Broadway hit that features 80s hair bands, is comprised of many West Fargo High School and Sheyenne High School alum.
"Rock of Ages" will continue July 24, 25, 26 and July 28-29. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.
