WEST FARGO — During routine compliance checks conducted by Fargo Cass Public Health's Substance Abuse Prevention Program to ensure alcohol is not being sold to minors, two West Fargo businesses failed.

Alcohol compliance checks were conducted Oct. 6 at 18 businesses, and 16 passed. Fargo Cass Public Health partners with local law enforcement to do the checks in Fargo, West Fargo and elsewhere in Cass County.

Family Fare Liquors, 1100 13th Ave. E., and Spice Pie, 745 31st Ave. E. #110, failed the checks.

It was the first violation for Spicy Pie, resulting in a written warning and a 12-month probationary period, according to Fargo Cass Public Health.

For Family Fare Liquors, it was the second violation, which resulted in a $250 fine.
