West Fargo's municipal judge will not seek re-election
WEST FARGO — Municipal Judge Michelle Donarski will not be seeking election when her term ends in June.
In a letter of resignation sent to West Fargo officals, Donarski said she will resign at the end of her term, but continue practicing law at the Anderson, Bottrell, Sanden & Thompson law firm.
Donarski has served as West Fargo's sole municipal judge since 2015, after serving as an alternative municipal judge since 2005.
"Words cannot fully convey my appreciation for the many talented and dedicated city employees, clerks, and attorneys who work tirelessly in the administration of our judicial system," Donarski said in her resignation. "West Fargo municipal court has grown from one part-time clerk to three full-time clerks over the past 16 years to meet the judicial needs of West Fargo as the city continues to grow. I am forever grateful for having had this special privilege of serving the citizens of West Fargo and working with its city employees."
Donarski's seat will be on the June ballot.
The West Fargo Mayor seat and two commission seats will also be on June ballot.
