West Fest returning to West Fargo in September; parade entries now open

WEST FARGO — What has become one of the largest community celebrations and parade in the state of North Dakota will return this year when West Fest kicks off the week of Sept. 13.

The city and West Fargo Events, the nonprofit that will manage the event for West Fargo is asking for community members and businesses to sign up for the parade now, with registration available online at .

The annual parade route which follows northern Sheyenne Street may have to be slightly modified this year, however said Communications Director Melissa Richard.

The parade route will be on Sheyenne Street between Fourth Avenue W. and 10 th Avenue W. to allow for construction progress to continue along the northern part of Sheyenne Street, but it will revert to the original parade route if construction progress allows.

“The City of West Fargo and our event management partners, West Fargo Events, continue to work diligently to offer great community events to our residents during reconstruction on Sheyenne Street,” said Mark Simmons, West Fargo City Commissioner and president of the West Fargo Events board of directors in a statement. “It is important to continue these community traditions, even while we deal with some temporary inconveniences.”


The 2021 theme of West Fest will be “Our Heroes,” was chosen to honor all of the community members who went above and beyond in the last two years.

On Saturday, Sept. 18, the day will also include craft and vendor show, family activities and street dance in the POW/MIA Plaza.
