FARGO-Redshirt freshman receiver Christian Watson will likely make his North Dakota State football debut today against North Alabama.

The 6-foot-3 Watson, from Tampa, Fla., was slowed during fall camp with a leg injury. He is expected to be in the receiver rotation for the Bison, who are thin in experience at that position behind starter Darrius Shepherd.

NDSU senior defensive end Caleb Butler, meanwhile, was in street clothes prior to the game and will not play, news that came via a tweet by WDAY sports director Dom Izzo.

Butler started 14 games last season. He was second on the team with 10.5 tackles for loss and third with five sacks. He had 53 tackles, fifth on the team.
